Ministry: Mariams

Mariams' Ministry

The married ladies in the church, known as Mary's, draw inspiration from the exemplary life of the mother of Jesus. Adorning the honorable gomesi attire, they exhibit humility and submission to their husbands, mirroring the virtues of Mary. The ministry provides a platform for addressing specific issues relevant to married women, holding dedicated meetings to share experiences and offer guidance.

What are the Mariams (Ba Mariam)

With reference to the mother of Jesus, the married ladies in church are referred to as Mary’s. This reference hails right from the good example she was to our mothers in our generation, maintaining her holy life even until marriage, taking good care of her baby, Jesus Christ, serving God and then being faithfully married to only one husband, Joseph.

They are characteristically identified by the honorable gomesi attire in which they are usually clad, on Sundays, and for any other special events and functions. Specific to these ladies is the humility and submissiveness they exercise towards their husbands. It is worthy noting that a given Mary is only in a love affair with one man.

This ministry serves for the interest that there is some information that is only important for married women and can’t be shared with in the presence of all congregates, during general congregations. Hence, specific meetings are held where they teach them on how to manage their families and also they freely explain their challenges to leaders for all the required help.

They are organized to help those about to join marriage, and the newly married in the different aspects of marriage, then also actively get engaged in church service in the areas of fundraising, praise and worship, evangelism, visiting the sick, and visiting all the children in church.
